Terms of use.

Short, and mostly about the limits of what anyone can honestly promise about local services.

What this is

An information service. We tell you which organisations we have found, what we understand them to provide, whether we believe they are currently open, and the date we last confirmed it. That is the entire product.

What this is not

  • Not medical, legal, financial or insurance advice. We do not diagnose, recommend treatment, or tell you what to do about money.
  • Not an eligibility determination. Only the agency or organisation running a programme can decide whether somebody qualifies. Where we mention a rule, we show the rule and its date so you can see what we screened on.
  • Not an endorsement. Listing an organisation means we found it and checked it. It does not mean we vouch for the quality of what they do.
  • Not affiliated. We are not a government agency, not an insurer, and not connected to any organisation listed here.

The honest limitation

Availability information decays and it decays quietly. A programme can stop taking people the day after we confirm it, and nobody announces it. We handle that by dating every claim and by expiring anything we have not reconfirmed in ninety days, but we cannot guarantee that any particular service is open when you call. Always call before relying on something.

We provide this service as it is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from acting on information here. That is not a way of avoiding responsibility for accuracy: it is an acknowledgement that we are describing other people's organisations, which they can change without telling us.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us. We would rather be corrected than be trusted while wrong.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape this site, resell the data, or submit other people's details without their knowledge. The information is here so families can use it, not so it can be repackaged into another unverified directory.

Changes

If we change these terms materially we will change the date at the top. We will not quietly rewrite what you already agreed to: consent wording is versioned, and an old agreement never migrates forward onto new wording.
